I got my PhD under Malcolm&#8217;s supervision in 2021, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/eprints.soton.ac.uk\/474035\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/eprints.soton.ac.uk\/474035\/\">thesis<\/a> primarily concerned with methodological advances for exciting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S1090780719301570\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S1090780719301570\">long-lived nuclear singlet order <\/a>(and quasi-singlet eigenorder) in spin-1\/2 pairs in the solution-state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before that, I did a BSc in pharmaceutical science, with an introduction to NMR  by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/people\/rep\/faculty-of-engineering-and-science\/jeremy-everett\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.gre.ac.uk\/people\/rep\/faculty-of-engineering-and-science\/jeremy-everett\">Jeremy Everett<\/a> at the University of Greenwich. My undergrad project was on characterizing tautomerism of murine biomarkers\/sex pheromones by NMR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I really love nuclear magnetic resonance because it lies at the triple point of biology, chemistry, and physics, and because it allows you to simultaneously be an experimentalist and a theorist.
